The standards serve and support professional educators in fulfilling their professional roles and responsibilities from pre-service teacher to experienced practitioner. The standards are intended to guide teachers as they develop, refine, and extend their practice. The 2010 Continuum of Teaching Practice (CTP) is aligned with the CSTP, builds on California's pre-service and Teaching Performance Expectations (TPE) and sets forth a description of teaching that respects the diverse ways teachers pursue excellence in teaching and learning. The CTP is a tool for self-reflection, goal setting, and inquiry into practice. The CSTP 2009 and the CTP 2010 can be ordered from BTSA Induction Cluster Region Directors.
